19 May 2007 [10:10] - TODAY.AZ
People's Bank of Georgia is seeking a partner in Azerbaijan for money transfer.

Bank's director general Georgi Goguazade told APA-Economics that they have close cooperation with some Azeri banks, especially Azerdemiryolbank. He added that Azerbaijan and Georgia don’t have direct money transfer relations.

"I think this field is so prospective for the both parties. We are seeking cooperation in money transfer," he noted.

He added that $500 million was transferred through Georgian banks during 2006.

Established in December, 2002, People's Bank provides banking services to 1.5 million customers. The bank has 140 branches and service centers throughout the country.
