Ex-BP representative to Azerbaijan Les Abraham's revelations are falsified by opposition press

17 May 2007 [00:13] - TODAY.AZ
"Former BP representative in Azerbaijan Les Abraham’s revelations to the London Daily Mail has been significantly falsified by opposition press" ruling YAP deputy chairman, executive director Ali Ahmadov exclusively told.

After the publication of this article in opposition press, our party got the original article and compared it with the published ones.

AlI Ahmadov said there are several falsifications and additions which the original does not contain, APA reports.

"Opposition newspapers seized the opportunity and "attacked" Azerbaijani authorities. We witnessed falsification of articles in opposition newspapers. They extracted some indentions and added some new opinions. They want to represent the disgraceful events of 1992-1993 as the events happened not in the reign of Peoples Front but afterwards."

Ali Ahmadov said the article says that the events occurred in the early 90s.

"If such dirty things happened in the signing of agreement as BP's former representative says it all took place during Popular Front power. After BP and PFP in power reached agreement on Shah Deniz field, Margaret Thatcher was invited to "Gulustan" palace to party. It is also emphasized when Margaret Thatcher left the power she came to Baku in late of 1992 and took part in the negotiations held between BP and the power in Azerbaijan. Another interesting fact is the description of curfew which as we know goes to the reign of Peoples Front Party. We found the original of article and discovered that translators of the article added many things."
