AZAL to buy new aircrafts in 2007-2008

Azerbaijan Airlines State Concern (AzAL) has got an agreement to operate air cargo transportation with Seoul and Shanghai from 2008, the company director general told the 2nd Caspian Air Cargo Summit under way in Baku.

He added that the company is planning to rent Boeing 747 aircrafts and the flights to Seoul and Shanghai will start from the first quarter of 2008.

He added that Azerbaijan has also booked new aircrafts with delivery of 2007-2008.

"We will buy six ATR-42 500 and ATR-72 500 planes. The aircrafts will be delivered to Baku from August, 2007 until August, 2008. Besides, as per the agreement we signed with Boeing, we will get Boeing 787 and Boeing 737-900 planes by 2010. Among the former Soviet Republics, Azerbaijan will be the first to have Boeing 787," he concluded. APA-Economics
