Baku Electricity Networks achieve 20% rise in collection rate

11 May 2007 [08:55] - TODAY.AZ
Collection rate for electricity continues to improve after notable decline after energy prices hike in early 2007.

Baku Electricity Networks technical director Ibrahim Abdullayev said the collection rate as at May 1 has increased 20% from that of early this year.

He added that the metering process has continued to progress and provision of all customers with electricity meters will be completed by this year's end. "We have some 60,000 clients without meters at present," he noted.

He also gave information about the 2007-2009 Development Program aimed at modernization of electricity networks.

"Within the scope of this program, we have to date replaced 30km long overhead power lines with underground cables. The work is under way. Construction and reconstruction of power stations, transformers and other facilities are being carried out," he added. APA-Economics
