Azeri, Kazakh and Georgian transport workers hold meeting in Aktau

A meeting of transport workers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia wrapped up in the Kazakh city of Aktau.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Azerbaijan's Ministry of Transport, State Caspian Sea Shipping Company, and State Railway. Meeting participants discussed coordination of transport infrastructure operations, raising of competitive capacity of Aktau-Baku-Poti/Batumi and Aksaray-Samur-Poti-Batumi routes, reduction of railway tariffs and other issues.

Participants prepared joint proposals to increase the volume of Kazakh oil shipped via Azerbaijan and Georgia and discussed a draft Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan intergovernmental agreement on international sea shipping.

In conclusion, a protocol on development of transport cooperation among the three nations was signed. AzerTAg
