Amount of March deals rises 29.4% on BICEX

The auctions were attended by 30 banks and deals worth AZN 106,783 million ($123,363 million) were concluded in total, up 29.37% from the same period last year, APA reports.

The total turnover reached AZN 415.45 million during January-April, 52.7% higher than a year earlier.

Five banks- Bank Standard (22.29%), UniBank (21.66%), Azerigazbank (14.68%), International Bank of Azerbaijan (13.46%) and Yapi Kredi Bank (10.25%) came ahead for the amount of deals.

In April, the exchange rate of Azeri manat against the US dollar rose 0.3% to 0.8640 AZN/USD from AZN 0.8667 AZN/USD1. The average weighted exchange rate was AZN 0.8656/USD1 in April while it was AZN 0.8679//USD1 in March.

The exchange rate of the national currency against the dollar jumped 4.47% from the same period last year.
