Babayev meets Iranian envoy

Speaking in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Naser Hamidi Zare, he expressed the eagerness of high-ranking officials of his country to develop all-out ties with the Islamic Republic.

Babayev referred to the appropriate level of bilateral economic and trade exchanges, calling for better use of opportunities and potentials, and termed the expansion of economic ties between Iran and Azerbaijan as necessary.

The Azeri minister further called for improvement of mutual trade exchanges, in particular in private and investment sectors, expressing hope to hold talks with his Iranian counterpart in the near future.

For his part, Iranian ambassador pointed to the abundant economic potentials between the two friendly countries, underlining the need for proper use of capacities and additional effort to upgrade economic exchanges.

"Iranian officials do not consider any limitation for expanding all-out ties with Azerbaijan, hence, Iranian side is ready to promote bilateral trade relations," he noted.

Hamidi Zare underlined the need for bolstering economic cooperation based on mutual interests and applying relative priorities in various sectors, particularly oil, gas and petrochemical industries as well as transportation, industries and mines, fisheries, agriculture, processing industries and industrial machinery.

Turning to the constant increase in bilateral economic exchanges, he expressed hope that with the implementation of policies adopted by Iranian and Azeri officials, grounds will be prepared to make use of opportunities better than ever, and the current economic exchanges will be developed up to an acceptable level.
