Azerbaijan to pave order and rule for internet resources

03 May 2007 [09:07] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan's Communications and Information Technologies Ministry has drafted a package of proposals for security of the national cyber-space.

The proposals include standardization of internet resources, protection of the internet resources as national wealth, formation of state information resources, simplification of licensing of specialized firms and services in this field.

Ministry's official Rufat Gulmammadov told APA-Economics that the new requirements will be applicable for state-owned information resources.

"Sometimes, we think why our websites are hacked. The reason is that inexperienced firms create a website at a low price. Of course, it is almost impossible to achieve an absolute protection. We want to redouble responsibility in this sphere," he added.

After discussions over the proposals, the package will be submitted to the government for approval.
