Education Ministry and INTEL conclude memorandum

Azerbaijan's Education Ministry and INTEL company concluded a memorandum of mutual understanding and intent on the use of telecommunication and information technology in education, Minister Misir Mardanov represented Azerbaijani side and the director of education program on CIS countries Martina Ross represented INTEL in the conclusion of the memorandum.

Mardanov said that such memorandum between the two organizations was concluded on March 29 last year. According to the memorandum, 119 teachers in Baku and Sumgayit were trained, "INTEL: education for future" textbook and electron program materials were translated into Azerbaijan. Tours to different countries of the world were also organized in the framework of this cooperation.

The newly-signed memorandum calls for preparation of programs for the efficient use of modern information technology in education, development of education programs in Azerbaijan.

According to the memorandum, INTEL will work on training of nearly 3,000 teachers, deliver of 1000 computers to educational institutions of the country, publication of school supplies, coordination of programs, organization of known exchanges and provision of methodical aid.

The memorandum also covers assistance to the Education Ministry in localization of program materials, use of international experience in application of ICT in education, APA reports.
