Azeri insurers achieve 29.5% increase in Q1 premium collection

Insurers operating in Azerbaijan collected a total of AZN 36.8 million in premium during the first quarter of the year, up 29.49% from the same period last year.

Finance Ministry told APA-Economics that the insurance companies paid AZN 6.81 million for insurance claims over this period, down 43.39% from last year.

Collection of life insurance premiums rose 57.14%, year-on-year, to AZN 110,000, non-life insurance increased 21% to AZN 32.72 million and compulsory insurance quadrupled to AZN 3.97 million. Payment for insurance claims decreased 33.33% for life insurance to AZN 2,000, fell 46.3% for non-life insurance to AZN 6.17 million and dropped 21.57% for compulsory insurance to AZN 62,000.
