Palmali, SOCAR negotiate on shipments from Ceyhan Port

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and Palmali Group of Companies are negotiating on transportation of crude oil from Ceyhan Port, the outfall of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

As APA reports, the parties have nearly agreed on the matter and details are under discussion.

Azerbaijan will own 80% of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan output after 2008.
The current export rate through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline runs on schedule and the pipeline is in the throughput capacity of delivering one million barrels per day (approx. 50 million tonnes per year).

The Ceyhan Terminal is able to fill 1 to 2 tankers a day. In the medium run the capacity of the pipeline is expected to be expanded to between 80-90 million tons per year.

Palmail Group of Companies is shipping goods in the Mediterranean, Baltic, Caspian and Black Seas, as well as through Russia's waters. The Company specialized in transit of oil products, crude oil and industry oils. The company has about 120 freighters, including rented vessels.
