06 April 2007 [22:59] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan's air park will be renewed, proper agreements have already been concluded for buying Airbus and ATR airplanes, Azerbaijan Airlines (AzAL) State Concern's deputy director-general Etibar Huseynov told journalists.

The airplanes bought under agreement will be brought to Baku at the end of the year.

"Airbus airplanes will be brought to Azerbaijan from 2010. The opening of new flights inside the country and abroad is intended as the air park is being renewed. The number of charter and regular flights will increase due to growing number of tourists in summer. The new airplanes can also be used in domestic flight if needed," he said.

Huseynov noted that the influence of rise in prices of energy deliveries on air transport and passenger-carrying is being investigated, APA reports.

"According to the preliminary accounts, the increase of fuel price had the least impact on passenger carrying," he said.
