New GSM operator Azerfon to start in a month

Azerfon President, John Armley, said network stations will first be installed in Baku and six big cities -Sumgait, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Mingechevir, Lenkeran and Guba, APA reports.

He said the target is to acquire 1.5mln customers this year and they are making up time to install stations so that customers can reach the coverage.

AZERFON LLC has been granted a license by Communications and Information Technologies Ministry of Azerbaijan dated 28.12.2005 for the provision of GSM mobile communications services in 900/1800 MHz band throughout the territory of Azerbaijan.
