Azeri agriculture sector needs more privileges after price hike, Ministry says

Agriculture Ministry has notified the Government of the undesirable affects of the recent energy price hike and sent proposals for solution.

The Ministry official Sabir Valiyev told the APA that the Cabinet will release its answer in a few days.

"We achieved a number of privileges for the farming sector after the price rise in diesel fuel last year. We want more privileges and concessions so as to prevent the sector from any possible recession," he said.

The Ministry proposes to increase subsidies, sell low-priced fuels to the farmers and other compensations.
