Baku Metro employees' salary to be increased by 50%

The salary of Baku Metro employees will be raised by 50% to AZN 225-230 from next year.

Baku Metro Chief Tagi Ahmadov said that the decision was made after his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev.

The average monthly pay is AZ 61, which reaches AZN 150 after adding extra payments.

He said that they will soon mark the 40th anniversary of Baku Metro.

Tagi Ahmadov noted that 25 new subway train wagons will be purchased next year. "We ordered Rusich 740 and 741 coaches which will be delivered to Azerbaijan next year. The wagons are 20 and 24 meters in length. Every train will consist of three coaches," he said.

He said that the interval is 2 or 2.5 minutes in Hazi Aslanov-28 May line, 4 or 5 minutes in 28 May-Baku Soveti and 28 May-Memar Ajemi lines. After opening of Memar-Ajami-Khatai line the interval will fall to 80 seconds.
