State Ecological Examination Dept. has evaluates environmental impact of ACG

03 December 2006 [13:46] - TODAY.AZ
The State Ecological Examination Dept. has evaluated the environmental impact of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) offshore oilfield development project.

This also concerns strata water treatment. According to the plan, strata waters should be transported from the onshore Sangachal Terminal to ACG together with sea water. A pipeline will be laid to transport strata waters to the compressor and water injection platform in Central Azeri. It will have 14 inches (0.35 meters) in diameter and be 189 km long.

The strata water treatment project is an up-to-date one. The Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry reported that the final environmental impact evaluation will be made after BP-Azerbaijan fulfills the requirements of NGOs and the public. Turan
