Nazarbayev: "The Great Silk Way may be revived"

Organization of regular cargo transportation by the route Almaty-Mashhad-Istanbul will allow to revive ancient the Great Silk Way, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has stated at the 8th summit of Turkic speaking countries' leaders in Antalya today.

Along with deepening of interaction between Turkic speaking countries in the spheres of culture, science and education, enhancement of economic collaboration is very important as well, the President of Kazakhstan noted.

Taking into account an increasing demand for energy resources in the world, cooperation in oil and gas sphere and transportation of hydrocarbon materials to the world market assumes paramount significance. In this connection Kazakhstan supports initiative of joining the oil pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and other analogous proposals, Nazarbayev stressed. KAZINFORM
