Georgia to transfer 1.5 megawatts of electricity to Azerbaijan a day

"Georgia is going to transfer electrical energy to Turkey and Azerbaijan. Expansion of the hydroelectric power stations enables Georgia to transfer electricity to these countries," Georgia State Electrical System told.

Company spokesman Nino Jerenashvili says 1.5 megawatts of electrical energy will be transferred to Azerbaijan and Turkey per day from today.

Most Georgian hydroelectric power plants have bee restored and expanded.

Reconstruction of the third equipment of the Inguri Hydroelectric Power Station gives Georgia 260 megawatt additional electricity, APA reports.
