Marlen Asgarov: "Azerbaijan not to supply so much electricity for Georgia"

08 November 2006 [11:53] - TODAY.AZ
After November 15 Azerbaijan and Russia will discuss the issues on energy exchange and the price and volume of electrical energy Azerbaijan will import from Russia for 2007, Azerenergy Vice-President Marlen Asgarov told.

He says the volume of electrical energy will depend on the prices, APA reports.

He also insists that Georgia is keen on importing Russian electricity because in winter Azerbaijan can't provide Georgia with the electricity as much as they want.

"We are not capable of supplying Georgia with so much electrical energy because we experience high demand for electricity in winter," he said.

Azerbaijan imports 74.5m kilowatt/h electrical energy from Russia a year, of which 30% is exchange energy.
