President Aliyev meets EBRD delegation

The President pointed out the importance of the visit, and expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and EBRD.

He noted that development of regions of Azerbaijan and the non-oil sector of its economy is one of the government's priorities.

The Head of State expressed hope that cooperation with the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development would contribute to the process of development in the country.

The President told of the efforts being made towards development of social infrastructure in Azerbaijan.

He pointed to the country's rapidly growing state budget noting that socio-economic programs, as well as a number of other economic projects are being funded from internal sources.

Noting that that Azerbaijan has a very important geographical location, and has created a very favorable environment for foreign investments, President Aliyev expressed confidence in further enhancement of the country's cooperation with EBRD.

EBRD Director Kaarina Rautala speaking ion behalf of the delegation said the main goal of the visit was to be closer acquainted with the socio-economic situation in the country.

She informed the Azerbaijani leader about the delegation's trips to provinces and Sangachal terminal, as well as the meetings they had had during the visit saying all this helped them learn more about the accomplishments the country has achieved in both economy and other fields.

Rautala expressed readiness of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development to continue cooperation with Azerbaijan for realization of economic projects in the country. AzerTAg
