Fire happened in Azerneftyag production unit tanks

The accident happened in Sulheddin Vezirov St. where the tanks of Azerneftyag production unit are kept at about 06.40.

Firefighters came immediately to the site. The fire spread to wide area in a short period of time because of wind.

Emergencies Ministry Public Relations press service department Chief Tural useyibov told the APA that the fire burnt 500-700 sq m areas where oil wastes were kept.

The fire was put out at 07:40 though the wind caused difficulties. No casualty was reported.

At present the specialists of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic are at the site.

They investigate the reasons of the fire and assess the damage to the ecology. According to their preliminary judgment the some businessmen did it purposely.

The site is far away from the plant, but the windy weather caused the spread of the fire.
