Georgian Economic Development Department told APA bureau that the foreign trade turnover of Georgia was $2.891bn in the first eight months of the year which represents a 47.4% rise on the same period last year.
Georgia's leading trade partners are Turkey ($354.5m or 12.3% of trade turnover), Germany ($289.9, 8.3%), Azerbaijan ($238m, 8.2m), Ukraine ($223.6m, 7.7%) and Turkmenistan ($161.2m, 5.6%).
Georgia exported goods of $48.923m to Azerbaijan in January-August. Azerbaijan exported goods of $189.112m to Georgia in this period. This figure is a $44m rise on the same period last year, APA reports.
