Subway fare not to rise next year

The fare for subway will not rise next year.

Ogtay Hagverdiyev, chairman of finance and credit policy department of the Cabinet, told APA that the fare rise was not planned in the State Budget for next year.

He said the subsidy for Baku Metro has been increased. AZN 9.5m subsidy has been provided for Baku Metro while the amount will stand at AZN 11.9m next year.

The fare will be paid through cards in Baku Metro next year.
