Capital flow to Azerbaijan increasing

21 September 2006 [09:30] - TODAY.AZ
The Azerbaijan SME Support through Financial Sector Development Project held a half-day workshop on USAID's Development Credit Authority (DCA) Guarantee Program.

USAID advisor on economic affairs said money circulation has increased by 40 percent recently, APA reports.

"Companies made 70 percent of the investment at their own expenditure during the first half of the year. Capital flow to Azerbaijan is increasing year by year."

He said USAID is cooperating with a number of banks and associations in Azerbaijan on DCA Program.

"However, we think the regulative climate should be improved. A bill has already been submitted to parliament."

USAID reprehensive Fardi Bakhshiyev said the USAID guarantees the creditors that it will pay 50% of the credits. The minimum amount of the credit should be $1mn and the term from one year to five.

The credit can be received by banks, non-banks, credit unions and leasing organizations. The loans can be directed to economic projects and mortgage.
