Rovnag Abdullayev: "No gas and gasoline price rise next year"

20 September 2006 [13:47] - TODAY.AZ
The price of gasoline and liquid gas won't be raised next year, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said.

He said the reason for liquid gas shortage in the country is that some don’t sell and save the gas in the gas storage, being afraid of possible price rise, APA reports.

"There is no problem with liquid gas production. The production increased by three times in three years."

Mr. Abdullayev said liquid gas is also being exported to Turkey and Georgia and Azerbaijan is capable to produce enough liquid gas for the domestic market and export. But it is not the complete use of the potential.

Azerbaijan's annual demand for liquid gas is 120 000 cubic meters while it is capable of producing 200 000 tonnes of liquid gas annually.
