USAID implements electrical projects in Azerbaijani regions

03 August 2006 [09:47] - TODAY.AZ
The opening ceremonies of two electrical system rehabilitation projects will take place this week in Tasmaly village, Gakh (August 3 at 4.45 p.m.) and Dashuz village, Sheki (August 4 at 11 a.m.).

These projects were made possible through the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) supported Community Development Activity program and managed by CHF International.

As APA reports, these USAID-supported projects were identified as priorities by the elected Community Development Councils of Tasmaly and Dashuz as part of USAID Community Development Activity program, a five-year community-based program.

Residents of the two communities believe that these projects will improve access to electricity in the community, reduce the danger of electrocution that currently exists in the village due to malfunctioning electrical poles, establish cooperation between the community and the municipality, and to teach the community how to mobilize itself and its resources.
