Calculation mechanism of shadow economy in Azerbaijan will be improved

State Statistical Committee intends to obtain technical assistance from International Monetary Fund in order to improve calculation mechanism of shadow economy in Azerbaijan.

APA reports that the project is under discussion. Te main components of the project will have been discussed and determined by this year's end.

The committee calculated that shadow economy is 20% of GDP in Azerbaijan while independent experts think it to be 50%-60%.

Azerbaijan has cooperated with IMF since 1992 and its quota in the IMF is 160.9mn SDR.
