Most of the volume – more than 10m tons – was extracted by AIOC, a consortium of foreign companies and the state oil company (SOCAR) developing the country's major offshore field Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, while the rest by SOCAR, the company told AssA-Irada.
The overall output is expected to make up about 32m tons this year, or 10m tons over 2005. The figure is predicted to reach 45m tons in 2007 and 60.6m tons in 2010.
AIOC produced some 13.2m tons of oil, while SOCAR, joint ventures and operating companies - over 8.9m tons last year.
