The two-day I Caucasus Banking and Finance Expo-Conference starts today

Press-conference devoted to I Caucasus Banking and Finance Expo-Conference to be held June 13-14 in Baku.

Azerbaijan Banks Association President Zakir Nuriyev has said in his opening speech that Azerbaijan has its own place in the financial system of South Caucasus, APA reports.

Mr. Nuriyev has added that the conference envisages the introduction of banking accomplishments of Azerbaijan to international institutions and the world community, as well as to make the direct dialogue among banks, financial organizations and business structures.

Rena Abutalibova, Expo-Conference Organizing Manager, has told that around 250 representatives from 15 countries will take part on the conference stating that they have a range of sponsors, among which are Caspel, Baker & McKenzie, Aztech, Bank of Azerbaijan, Mughanbank, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Texnikabank, F-Line Technologies, Global Rating International Ltd., R-Style Ukraine, Moodys Investors Service, Standard Bank (Georgia). Special Banking and Financial Services paper will be printed.

Samir Sharifov, Finance Minister of Azerbaijan, Heydar Babayev, Economic Development Minister of Azerbaijan, Gunduz Mammadov, Chairman of Azerbaijan State Committee for Securities, Elman Rustamov, Azerbaijan National Bank Board Chairman, as well as Presidents of Azerbaijan and Georgian Banks Associations, EBRD representatives, will participate in the event.

Farid Mammadov, Director of Iteca Caspian, one of the organizers, has said on the press-conference that the main purpose of the event to be organized is to carry the opportunities of the financial sector of Azerbaijan to the world.

On his words, the event is a chance to get acquainted with projects of leading banks, credit opportunities, a broad range of services provided by insurance and leasing companies, business sector promotion and special proposals for business individuals. Mini exposition, on which stands will be put, will be organized for those purposes.
