According to APA, Enlightenment Public Union chairman for Human Rights, lawyer Irade Javadova, DLCLR Executive Committee member Hamid Kahlilov have met with village residents and municipality members.
20 village residents in the appeal sent to the organization state of violation of rights from the land having the area of 45 hectare, which was given to them in 1996 and confirmed by the State Act in 1998.
Those lands are claimed to be assumed by Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) for the purpose of Baku-Supsa pipeline restoration from 1998, and in 2003 proprietors were forced to sign contract with AIOC on lands' being given for rent during 50 years. Terms against the proprietors were included to the contract and at present proprietors were prohibited to use the land areas.
DLCLR leadership as a result of monitoring held, came to a conclusion that the residents were deprived of the rights to the lands without any ground, and relevant state organs or companies commissioning the pipeline should pay the damage to the population. The organization will apply to Court after having conducted thorough investigation.
