The Kazakh President said the treaty is expected to be signed during the Summit for Mutual Confidence and Action in Asia in Almaty.
"We highly appreciate this treaty because the oil delivery is very significant issue for Kazakhstan," Nazarbayev said.
The treaty on delivery of Kazakh oil via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline, which is to be signed between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan envisages delivery of 25 million barrels of Kazakh oil via the BTC every year.
The oil of Kazakhstan will reach the Sangachal terminal through the Aktau-Baku route and will be delivered to the world market via the BTC. 7.5 million barrels of oil is planned to be delivered at the initial stage, APA reports.
