Press conference devoted to opening of the 13th international exhibition and conference "Caspian Oil and Gas Incorporating Refining and Petrochemicals" took place June 5 at the International Press Center.

Andrew Wood, Senior advisor of the ITE Group Plc, Mehman Akhamedov, Vice-president of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Azerbaijan Republic, Julia Romanenk, project director of Caspian Oil and Gas and Emin Karimov, project manager of Caspian Oil and Gas said that that the exhibition to be held under the aegis of the President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev on June 6-9 at the Heydar Aliyev Sport and Concert Complex is a remarkable event not only for the Caspian region but also the world’s major oil and gas producers. The official catalogue of the exhibition included a greeting letter of the Head of our State to the participants and guests of the exhibition, AzerTAg reports.

The first international exhibition initiated and attended by genius personality, great statesman Heydar Aliyev was held in 1994 in Baku. It attracts more and more countries and companies. This year, the exhibition assembles 360 companies from 33 countries and it is significantly more than in previous years. Germany, Finland, Poland, Belgium, Greece, Israel and Uzbekistan will be represented in the event for the first time.

The area of the four-day exhibition is expected to increase 20 percent in comparison with the previous year. The pleasant fact is that 30 percent of the exposition will be occupied by new companies, which entered the Azerbaijani market for the first time. The reason of such a serious interest is the strengthening position of Azerbaijan in the international arena and its leading role in the region.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place on June 6. The conference on energy security and transportation of Caspian oil to the world markets will be held June 7-8 at the Hyatt Regency hotel. About 300 representatives including head of oil and transport companies as well as holding, insurance companies and banks are expected to participate in the conference.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Industry and Energy, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Industry and Energy of Russia, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan, Iraqi Ministry of Oil, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Georgia, high-ranking representatives of the US Departments of Energy and State as well as leading companies and corporations will take in the conference as reporters.
