"I am proud to present the Baku Declaration on Global Climate Transparency. The declaration underscores our collective commitment to promoting transparency and international cooperation. The declaration will work in parallel with the Baku Transparency Platform," Azernews reports, citing the Ecology and Natural Resources Minister, COP29 Presidenr-designate Mukhtar Babayev within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
He said at the "round table of ministers on global climate transparency" with the participation of the ministers of the republic.
"Today, I would like to focus on the biennial transparency reports and how the COP29 Presidency supports transparency in climate action. Transparency builds trust and confidence in the international process. It supports our accountability and increases our ambitions for climate action. Azerbaijan's Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) is due to be presented this week. Transparency also helps countries better understand their potential for climate action and identify their needs," M. Babayev added.
