Last year Azerbaijan obtained $77.7m of income from tourism

APA was given this information by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

It should be noted that in 2004 1.3 million people came to Azerbaijan and 800 thousand of them were tourists. Azerbaijan last year obtained $77.7 mn of income from the tourism field. According to the approximate calculations, 1 tourist spends $750-900 in Azerbaijan during a week. In general, there are 263 tourism establishments in Azerbaijan.

It was also informed from the Ministry that in most cases, tourists visiting Azerbaijan reside in private houses and it makes difficult registration of tourists.
