Caspian Shipping Company increased volume of freight traffic by 1.7% in 1st quarter

In 1st quarter of the current year, the Caspian Shipping Company (CSC) transported 3.289 million tons of freight, and it exceeds the same figure of the preceding year’s relevant period by 54 thosuand tons or 1.7%.

As APA reports, 2.181 million tons of freight was transported by tankers, 785 thousand tons by ferry-boats, and 323 thousand tons by land freight fleet.

In the reporting period most part of freight traffic was implemented by the ships functioning in the Caspian Sea. 3.034 million tons of freight was transported in this period and it exceeds the last year relevant period's indicator by 46 thousand tons or 1.5%.

The extra-Caspian universal land freight fleet of CSC transported 255 thousand tons of freight, and it is 8 thousand tons or 3.2% more in comparison with the relevant period of the past year.

In January-March, 2.9 thousand passengers were transported by ferry-boats.
