China's share in Azerbaijan's smartphone market increases

During the first five months of 2024, Azerbaijan's imports of smartphones from abroad increased by 21%, Azernews reports.

Specifically, during this period, the country imported 525,966 smartphones. In the corresponding period in 2023, this figure stood at 433,683 units.

The total value of smartphones imported to Azerbaijan amounted to 148.2 million dollars.

Of these smartphones, 76%, or 400,896 units, originated from the People's Republic of China, with an import value of 107.3 million dollars.

This marks an increase from the 69% share Chinese smartphones held in the Azerbaijani market during the same period in 2023, and a substantial rise from the 40% share observed in 2022.
