Poultry farms to fix same price for fowl and egg sold in the country

07 April 2006 [10:59] - TODAY.AZ
Poultry farms in Azerbaijan have agreed to fix same price on fowl and egg sold in the whole country.

Director General of Mardakan-Broiler poultry farm Gasim Bayramov told APA that this decision was made by 21 poultry farms about a month ago. Owners of the poultry farms meet every Monday to discuss their problems together, and they will fix standard price for poultry meat and egg on April 10.

Bayramov also said that the rate of sale has risen in Mardakan-Broiler in the past several days. He noted that birds were infected by avian flu. "Simply, the name of the disease has been changed now to make population panic," he said.

Bayarmov also said that before the Bird flu outbreak their products were sold 500 manats higher than now.

"Packed chicken was used to be sold for 10,500 manats and unpacked for 9000-9300 manats before. The cost is falling now," he added.

Commercial manager of Siyezen Broiler Joint-Stock Company Olga Vasilyenko told APA that the rate of sale is rising. The company fixes the price of products for sale. The manager also said that the price of egg fell nearly 55% before the Bird flu outbreak. Now an egg costs 250 manats.
