27 March 2006 [17:54] - TODAY.AZ
The president of the Barmek Azerbaijan Electricity Network Limited Liability Company (LLC) Huseyn Arabul appealed to the Ministry of National Security.

The head of the Company asked MNS for the help in controlling of inspections implemented in Barmek and revelation of employees committed misappropriation.

APA was given an explanation about it by Mr.Arabul. The head of Barmek noted the importance of revelation of persons who committed criminal actions and stressed that power supply is a part of state’s security.

Mr.Arabul also gave information about the activity of the special commission established in Barmek for investigation of the cases of the Company's arrested employees: "The commission prepared a report yesterday. I issued an instruction to reconsider the report. There are doubts concerning actions of the arrested persons. All these questions must be completely investigated."

Mr.Arabul also said that if there were proved to be guilty, Barmek would not defend them: "We have been officially fighting such cases for 4 years and we have achieved progress in this issue."

Barmek president said that inspections negatively affect the activity of Barmek. It damages security, image and other spheres of the Company. However, in any case Barmek continues its activity.

Regarding the facts presented to the prosecutor's office by the Azerenergy Open Joint-Stock Company on Barmek’s violating the liabilities provided in the contract, Mr.Arabul said that no official appeal has entered Barmek so far on not fulfillment of the contract's liabilities by the Company.

As to the connection of inspections in Barmek with the former minister of economic development Farhad Aliyev, the president of Barmek said: "I am a businessman. I do not interfere in any political issue. It is not important for me with whom to sign the contract – Farhad Aliyev or Heydar Babayev. I conclude the contract with the government, not with a concrete person."

The press-service of MNS told APA that they are uninformed about it.
