Azerbaijan International Operating Company, the operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli project, has applied to Russian pipeline company Transneft to pump 1.2 million tonnes of oil through the Baku-Novorossiisk pipeline in the second quarter 2006, which is 6% more than in the same period in 2005, a source in SOCAR told Interfax-Azerbaijan.
"AIOC, as the operator for oil transportation along the northern route, has declared 1.2 million tonnes for the second quarter 2006, on average 400,000 tonnes per month," the source said.
The source said that of the total, AIOC plans to pump 980,000 tonnes, and SOCAR - 220,000 tonnes. "In April and June we (SOCAR) plan to pump 80,000 tonnes each, and in May - 60,000 tonnes," the source said. He said that these indicators may change, as adjusted applications are submitted monthly.
