19 enterprises producing and importing alcoholic drinks stopped

The Ministry of Agriculture suspended licenses of several enterprises importing and alcoholic drinks of poor quality.

As APA reports, the Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abbasov told that those enterprises were Nida, Sada, Chirag-K LLCs: "We did not annul their licenses. We suspended their licenses for them to observe rules in the legislation".

The Minister also noted that currently 39 companies are engaged in production and importation of alcoholic drinks and activity of 19 of them were stopped. The Ministry of Taxes, State Customs Committee and Ministry of Economic Development were informed about it. The Minister said that activity of several more enterprises is expected to be stopped. The number of licenses suspended on production of ethyl alcohol and alcoholic drinks is 5.

These are "Ismailli Sherab-1" OJSC, Zaman Company in Samukh, "Nargile" LLC in Baku, "Aghsu Sherab-3" OJSC and Umid Company in Aghstafa: "If these 5 companies want to continue their activity under the legislation, they must inform the Ministry of Agriculture once a year as it is stipulated by the decision".

The Minister also said that at present there are 20 enterprises producing beer in Azerbaijan. The Minister told that 7 companies producing beer in the regions were given licenses, two Italian companies were granted licenses to produce brandy and wine. Licenses of Khayal Holding and Alko LTD were prolonged.
