Japan renders effective assistance to Azerbaijan

Presentation of a harvester-thresher, purchased according to Agricultural Production Volumes' Raising in Azerbaijan Project in the framework of common grants' program of Japan government, took place at Meshadi Azizbekov experimental-testing plant of Azerbaijan Agricultural Ministry.

According to Azerbaijan Agricultural Minister Ismet Abbasov, 1998-2003, 773 technical units, among them 212 tractors, 207 harvester-threshers, 186 ploughs, 148 sowing-machines and 20 harrows, leased later by farmers from various republic's regions as well as other legal and natural persons, were conveyed at the expense of the Japan grant, aimed at raising of country's agricultural production.

By means, collected at the Partnership Fund from leased machinery, received through Japan grants and rented later, 2004, 62 harvester-threshers, 64 tractors and 226 other agricultural machinery units, were handed over to farmers and entrepreneurs, who wish to render after-sales service. In March of last year, Azerbaijan Agricultural Ministry and embassy of Japan signed contract of project, which is presented now.

Whole project's sum amounts to $1,820,000. 25 SAMPO harvester-threshers were purchased in the project's framework. Japan ambassador Tadahiro Abe stressed, that the assistant program's aim is achievement by Azerbaijan of more impetuous economical development after independence gaining. The ambassador expressed his assurance of further development of relations, existing between states and peoples of Azerbaijan and Japan.
