Georgia-Iran-Azerbaijan negotiations on gas delivery held in Tehran

Representatives of the Azerigas Close Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) together with their Georgian counterparts are participating in the trilateral negotiations in Tehran concerning delivery of Iranian gas to Georgia through the territory of Azerbaijan.

As APA reports, technical issues in view of delivery of gas are being discussed in the negotiations.

Initially, stations of Azerbaijan, gas storehouses and other technical possibilities will be used for delivery of gas. The parties have already reached an agreement and in case the contract is signed, the variants on delivering Iranian gas to Georgia till autumn of this year will be considered.

It was also informed from Azerigas that the perspectives of constricting new gas pipeline to Georgia through the territory of Azerbaijan were also being discussed. The officials of Azerigas also added that Georgia importing gas from Iran through the territory of Azerbaijan would pay Azerbaijan transit fee at CIS prices for it.
