Shortage of electric energy amounts to 400 megawatts

Shortage of electric energy in the energy system of the Republic amounts to 400 megawatts at present.

As APA reports citing the Vice-President of JSC Marlen Asgarov, shortage is mostly registered in the territory controlled by the Bayva energy distributing company.

According to M.Asgarov, putting into operation the fifth block of the Azerbaijan Heating Electric Power Enterprise (HEE) in Mingechevir and module blocks built in the Astara Electric Power Station will enable to increase power of the energy system by additional 400 megawatts.

The Vice-President said that energy production had increased by 450 megawatts due to cold weather this year in comparison with the relevant period of the previous year and noted that the potentialities of the energy system of the country are 4000 megawatts including import of electric energy.
