Foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan reached USD 7.9 billion in January-November

In January-November of 2005 Azerbaijan implemented trade operations with foreign countries in amount of USD 7.9 billion or exceeding the same period's figure of 2004 by 28.8%.

As APA reports according to the State Statistical Committee, 52.1% of commodity circulation (USD 4.1 billion) fell to share of goods exported from the country and 49.7% (USD 3.8 billion) of imported goods. As a result, positive balance totaling USD 337.8 million occurred in the reporting year.

It was reported from the Committee that 73.2% of commodity circulation had been conducted with distant foreign countries and 26.8% with CIS countries. Trade links with faraway foreign countries and CIS countries increased by 27.8% and 31.6%, respectively. Volume of goods imported to the country raised 20.5% and 66.1% of it entered from faraway foreign states and 33.9% from CIS countries.

79.6% or USD 3.3 billion of exported goods were sent to distant foreign countries and 20.4% or USD 842.5 million to CIS countries. Volume of export with distant foreign countries and CIS states increased 34.2% and 51.4%, respectively.

It should be noted that 57.8% of foreign trade operations including 54.4% of import and 60.9% of export were implemented in free convertible currency. 17.4% of total volume of foreign trade fall to share of Italy, 11.1% of Russia, 6.8% of Turkey, 6.4% of France, 6.3% of Turkmenistan, 6.3% of Singapore, 4.4% of United Kingdom, 3.3% of Germany, 3.1% of China, 3% of Ukraine, 2.9% of Georgia, 2.8% of Iran, 2.5% of Israel, 2.1% of USA and 2% of Croatia.

In the mean time, humanitarian aid amounting to USD 38.4 million entered Azerbaijan in January-November.
