“Garadagh Cement”: “If a weak earthquake happens in the country, most of newly constructed buildings will tumble down”

05 October 2005 [08:41] - TODAY.AZ
“There are serious problems in the building sector of Azerbaijan. If a weak earthquake happens in the country, most of newly constructed buildings will tumble down”.
This declaration was made by the chairman of the Board of the “Garadagh Cement” Open Joint-Stock Company Uve Kohler in a press-conference yesterday.

According to his words, 50 thousand tons of defective cement is sold in the country yearly: “If news buildings tumble down and any human losses are registered, do not blame the composition of cement for it. Surely, some persons will be called to the criminal account for it”.

U.Kohler also informed that the shortage of cement is not their fault too: “Because “Garadagh Cement” OJSC produces cement within full production power. Only this year we intend to produce 1,2 million tons of cement and 40-45 % of it means open cement”.
