iBurst technology allows to do it without any problem.
Baku residents soon will have the opportunity to enjoy wireless broadband mobile Internet. It will be possible to use Internet in the office, at home, in open air, while traveling by car and in any other place of the city. It will become a reality with the help of iBurst technology which belongs to an American company Arraycomm and the famous Japanese producer of cellular network equipment Kyocera. Establishing a network on the basis of iBurst technology in the territory of Baku will be realized by the Joint British-Azerbaijani company Datacell owned by British-Atlantic.

At this moment the main part of the network has already been established and the test of the system has been successfully carried out. DataCell LLC is planning to establish the network in the whole territory of Baku and according to the available information the services will be promoted under the Elcell brand.

The «CIT» representative met one of the members of Kyocera delegation, which visited Baku in August to help with the establishment of iBurst system. According to the manager of Eastern and Central European Department of wireless technologies of Kyocera Yasushi Baba, the advantages of iBurst technology are mobility and the possibility of high speed data transmission. For example, Baku network will provide up to 1 Mbps speed for each user. In the future it may be increased up to 8 Mbps. According to preliminary plans the speed will be increased up to 2 Mpbs next year and in 2-3 years up to 5 Mpbs. In comparison with WiMax technology iBurst already provides mobility with the use of PCMCIA cards. In comparison with Wi-Fi iBurst has broader radius (12 km) that facilitates the access and enhances the possibilities of the system.

Providing the information on the Kyocera experience on the implementation of iBurst Y.Baba noted that this technology is being successfully used in Australia, South Africa and Greate Britain since 2004. At this moment 95% of Australian companies could use this network that is a good alternative to wire nets and to the main standard of wireless access to the Internet - Wi-Fi. Today Kyocera is holding successful negotiations on establishing the networks in some European countries and USA.

It should be noted that Internet services on the basis of iBurst technology may be interesting for the individual users as well as for the corporate clients. Elcell services will be vital for those companies and organizations who need to provide mobility for their employees in their everyday duties. Since October 2005 it is planned to provide Elcell services on broadband mobile access to the Internet and VPN connections.
