Azerbaijan releases 19,9 mln sturgeon fries into the Caspian

Khylli fish-farming factory built with the World Bank's financial support in Neftchala released 6 mln. sturgeon fries. In 2005, the factories are going to release 18 mln sturgeon fries into the sea.

Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) has approved the quota for export of black caviar in 2005, the Ministry said. Azerbaijan's black caviar export quota in 2005 will make up 6730 kg including 3780 kg of sturgeon, 2700 kg - stellate sturgeon and 250 kg - beluga caviar.
