The 7th Caspian International Road Infrastructure and Public Transport Exhibition opened its doors for guests at Baku’s Expo Center on April 26.

Road&Traffic 2017 to run until April 28 is taking place alongside with TransCaspian/Translogistica - the 16th Caspian International Transport, Transit and Logistics exhibition and CIBS - the 4th Caspian International Boat and Yacht Show.

Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ramin Guluzade, addressing the opening ceremony, stressed that Azerbaijan, playing the role of a bridge between East and West, is regarded as a key partner in important transit transportation.

Modern transport infrastructure created in Azerbaijan for transit transportation allows turning investments into income, said Guluzade.

He noted that the Azerbaijani president conducts a purposeful policy for the improvement and development of the country’s transport sector. “Pivotal work carried out in air and land transportation sectors is the result of this policy and the volumes of cargo and passenger transportation increase as a result,” added Guluzade.

The minister stressed the role of Baku International Sea Trade Port, the largest port in the Caspian Sea, and its Free Trade Zone in attracting investment in Azerbaijan.

Guluzade also expressed his confidence saying “I believe that we will adequately implement the goals set before us”.

The minister further hailed the yearly increasing interest in the exhibition. “This year's exhibition, which displays the latest technologies and innovations, as usual, will contribute to building new cooperation and exchanging experience,” he said.

The TransCaspian/Translogistica exhibition is part of a series of specialized transport and logistics exhibitions organized by ITE Group plc (UK), which includes TransRussia (Moscow), TransPoland (Warsaw), TransUzbekistan (Tashkent), TransUkraine (Kiev), and TransitKazakhstan (Almaty), a series of international BreakBulk exhibitions (Antwerp, Houston, Shanghai, Abu Dhabi, Kuala Lumpur) and others.

Executive Director of the company Iteca Caspian LLC Farid Mammadov, earlier talking to press said that the TransCaspian/Translogistica exhibition, which brings together key public transport authorities and commercial organizations engaged in the rail sector, maritime industry, aviation, commercial vehicles and transport & logistics services, is the leading transport event of the Caspian region.

This year, 88 companies from 14 countries, including Azerbaijan, Austria, Belarus, Lithuania, Russia, Turkey and others, are participating at the TransCaspian/Translogistica exhibition, he said.

New companies comprise 30% of the total number of participants. Among this year’s debutants are the RTC Group of Companies, ASFIL, Minsk Car Repair Plant and others.

Mammadov stressed that the exhibition displays a wide range of products and services that are related to the sphere of transport.

The 16th Caspian International Transport, Transit and Logistics exhibition “TransCaspian/Translogistica 2017” is organized by the company Iteca Caspian with the support of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and TRACECA.
