Azerbaijan to supply furniture in Qatar

Azerbaijan, which widely promotes its brand in the world market, has agreed to supply the street and garden furniture to Qatar.

The agreement on the supply of furniture under the brand ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ was signed between IDEA (Azerbaijan) and Scandinavian Supplies (Qatar) in the framework of the export mission of Azerbaijani businessmen in Doha on February 25-27.

The meeting was held within the official visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Qatar. Around 30 businessmen accompanied the President during this visit.

In Doha, Azerbaijani entrepreneurs met their Qatari counterparts to discuss the partnership opportunities. The event, which was attended by nearly 100 Arab businessmen and representatives of distribution companies, discussed the expansion of relations between the two countries, export of Azerbaijani goods to Qatar and other issues.

As part of the export mission, Azerbaijani entrepreneurs held a meeting in the Qatari investment company, and get acquainted with the Carrefour network and local markets.

Trade turnover with Qatar in 2016 exceeded $170,000, according to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, some $107,000 fell for the export to this country.

In late 2016, with a view to bring the economy to a new level Azerbaijan started promoting the ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ brand in foreign markets and developed a number of promotional mechanisms, including participation in international exhibitions.

Today Azerbaijan outputs more than 250 kinds of home-made products in food, light, heavy and construction industries. 

A total of 3 million manats ($1.71 million) was allocated out of the Azerbaijani President’s Reserve Fund in the 2016 State Budget to finance the export support measures.
