Petroleum import from non-OPEC drops

The volume of petroleum import from non-OPEC countries averaged 6.657 million barrels per day in the first nine months of 2016, as compared to averagely 6.696 million barrels per day in the same period in 2015, according to the Monthly Energy Review of the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The average volume of petroleum import from non-OPEC stood at 5.895 million barrels per day in the first nine months of 2014, said the report.

The highest volume of petroleum import from non-OPEC countries in the first nine months of 2016 was recorded in August (6.888 million barrels per day), while the lowest level was observed in March (6.426 million barrels per day), according to the EIA.

This figure averaged at 6.554 million barrels per day in 2015, as compared to 6.004 million barrels per day in 2014.

Oil production from countries outside the OPEC currently represents about 60 percent of world oil output, according to the EIA.
